Colour me coveting

Yes, I know that every blogger and their donkey loves turquoise blue paired with red. And everyone loves Cath Kidston style. But as I'm currently sorting the new nest at the moment, these pics I found via Ms Cate are very appealing for home cosiness. Just humour me, okay?

Cake tins ahoy!

Opportunity

This is one of my favourite songs ever. I love the lyrics, I love the clip.

I want his little house in the fields full of retro faded goodness.

And because the meanie record company won't let anyone embed this on their pages, here's a version by one of my fave you tubers, Brad in Florida.

Nanna core #1

Something I did buy...this pair of little needlework pictures, from the framing label on the back, I'd say they date from around the early 60's. Last night my mate Mel and I hung them next to my front door, and had a nanna core decorating moment. Hooray.

Seen around Savers

Photos of the things I *didn't* buy:

Okay, who even would have wasted time thinking up such a useless piece of crap? And look at those fingernails. Ick.

Gorgeous Laura Ashley dress... early 70's methinks? And the price? For you, just $99.99. I kid you not.

Another original 70's dress, but my sieve like brain can't remember the brand... it was "Miss Something" this one is a size 13, and again, only $99.99. Savers are tripping. Grr.

And ...well words fail me! Spotted in the homewares section:

Oh golly

I appear to have E-bayed this 1961 Laminex buffet today. Will it look good in the new villa? Let's hope so!

Reminder to self

Love this

An inspiration photo, from Ink and Spindle's blog. When I get sewing again, I must order some of their fabrics and whip up a throw for the couch. Yes.

Another blog

Time for a change. Last week I moved house, to a unit by the bay. I can see the beach from the end of my street, and I've got my own space to potter around in. There's a certain amount of sadness and grieving, but overall I'm positive. It was the fairest thing for HP and something I needed to do. This just leaves me as a chick with crap and craft. The clutter, cars and critters remain at Portionvilla. Another thing that tears my heart. So anyway, I have some new adventures ahead and we'll see how I go. I just hope everyone still drops in for a cuppa.
